Don's deal is just another fantasy

WHILE promising peace and prosperity to the world, before retaking the White House, Donald Trump declared at least 53 times that he would end the war in Ukraine in just 24 hours.

Don's deal is just another fantasy

Like Moses parting the Red Sea, he'd walk into the Oval Office, flash that "Art of the Deal" grin, and the guns would fall silent.

But here we are, four months in to his return to power, and the only thing that's stopped is any real diplomacy.

Monday’s long-hyped phone call between Trump and Vladimir Putin, marketed by MAGA loyalists as a turning point, landed with all the impact of a deflated balloon.

Mad Vlad, ever the seasoned propagandist, described the two-hour call as "informative, frank and very useful".

Translated, it simply meant he got to waste Trump's time while Russia kept bombing Ukrainian cities.

The US leader, meanwhile, went into full fantasy mode. According to him, ceasefire talks would begin "immediately", the Pope wants to host them, and Russia is apparently itching to do a massive trade deal.

HEALTHY START

January is the right time for a reset. Nothing extreme, just food to help you feel good. Think fresh flavours, colourful plates and meals as nourishing as they are comforting. Soothing soups, vibrant salads and a spicy curry are on my menu plus, of course, the odd selection box chocolate which needs eating up!
