Cat Wolverine defies the odds after he's run over five times

Wolverine has certainly been in the wars

Black and white cat Wolverine, two, disappeared from his home in East Hartford, near Cramlington, Northumberland in March last year.

His owners Leah Gregory, 21, and Paul Allsopp, 22, put up posters and social media posts in an attempt to find him, but were unsuccessful.

Then, on Monday, they were stunned when they received a phone call from an animal hospital which was treating him.

They discovered that Wolverine had been rushed to Moorview Referrals near Cramlington by Adam Mulvey, 42, from Blyth, who had witnessed him being hit by a van and four cars.

The pet had a fractured pelvis and fractured back legs as well as a tail pulling injury. They rushed to the vets where they were reunited with Wolverine, who may also need to have his tail amputated.

Leah, who works as a lead operations coordinator, said: “Seeing him after all that time was the best thing ever. He's a big cat but he's got this really squeaky meow. It’s something we never thought we'd hear again.
