Arrests over suspected stabbing in city park

THREE teenage boys have been arrested following a suspected stabbing in Leazes Park.

Emergency services were called to the Newcastle city centre park just before 9pm on Friday.

On arrival, they found two teenagers with suspected stab wounds. One of the teens was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

On Friday, an eyewitness said more than half a dozen officers were seen entering Leazes Park alongside armed officers.
