Arrests over 'man with gun' at shopping centre

ARMED officers were called to Gateshead's Metrocentre as shoppers headed to the Boxing Day sales following a report of a male carrying a suspected firearm.

Police were alerted to a disturbance in the Yellow multi-storey car park shortly before 2.15pm on Saturday, December 27.
It is reported that the occupants of two cars became involved in a verbal dispute over a parking space and one of the males was thought to be carrying a suspected firearm.
No weapons were located by police at the scene, however, enquiries remain ongoing.
