Appeal gives hospital's helipad fund £600k lift

A NORTHUMBERLAND hospital has received £600,000 towards a project to upgrade its helipad so night landings can take place.
The helipad at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) in Cramlington will also feature new a larger landing pad and new lighting.
The money comes from dedicated charity the HELP Appeal, which funds hospital helicopter facilities. The upgrade project will also see a “four-metre-wide safety zone”, while “extensive wildflower planting” will support the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust's plans to achieve net zero carbon emissions.
