Sri Lanka has solidified its position as a pivotal market for Malaysian tourism, with arrivals skyrocketing by 122% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels. Leading attractions like SplashMania Waterpark are capitalising on this momentum, offering Sri Lankan travellers a unique mix of adrenaline-pumping rides, eco-friendly leisure sites, world-class shopping, and affordability.
In an exclusive interview with The Island Financial Review, Vincent Koh, Assistant Manager of PR & Social Media at Gamuda Land (a leading regional property developer), outlined why Sri Lanka is a priority for Malaysia’s tourism expansion and how SplashMania aligns with the preferences of Sri Lankan visitors.
Ranked among Malaysia’s top 20 source markets, Sri Lanka trails only India in South Asia. In 2024, Malaysia welcomed 61,766 Sri Lankan visitors, a 4.2% year-on-year increase and a remarkable 122% surge from 2019.
