Russia will continue to export oil to India, and increase imports Slams US imposing 50% tariffs on Indian goods

Russia today slammed the United States for imposing 50% tariffs on Indian goods just because it is buying oil from Russia. Moscow has declared that it will continue to sell oil to India and increase imports from this country.

The Russian Embassy here further condemned the US pressure on India regarding its oil, asserting that it disrupts global supply chains and threatens energy security for developing nations.

“If Indian goods are facing difficulties entering the US market, the Russian market is welcoming Indian exports...” said Roman Babushkin, Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Embassy.

(Trade between India and Russia hit a record-high of $68.7 billion during the fiscal year 2024-25, per the Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry. This reflects total exports and imports combined.
