CSE trading on the floor kicked off on a positive note yesterday but subsequently technical profittakings moved the market downwards.

Profit-takings stymie stock market's positive proclivities

Amid those developments both indices declined. The All Share Price Index went down by 55.99 points, while the S and P SL20 declined by 29.1 points. Turnover stood at Rs 7.5 billion with12 crossings.

Some of those crossings were reported in Alumax, where 71.2 million shares crossed to the tune of Rs 1.2 billion; its shares traded at Rs 18, E.B Creasy 2.8 million shares crossed to the tune of Rs 182 million and its shares sold at Rs 65, Aitken Spence 41000 shares crossed to the tune of Rs 96.1 million; its shares traded at Rs 150, Sunshine Holdings three million shares crossed for Rs 91.5 million; its shares sold at Rs 30.5, Haylays Leisure 1.5 million shares crossed for Rs 58.1 million; its shares traded at Rs 38.
