India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national President JP Nadda on Sunday said that the saffron party has become the world's largest political party with 140 million members. Twenty million of them are active, he added.
The party has 240 Lok Sabha members, around 1,500 MLAs (Members of Legislative Assemblies) and more than 170 MLCs (Members of Legislative Councils) across the country, he said.
Addressing a party rally in Visakhapatnam or Vizam in Andhra Pradesh, Nadda termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) regime as "responsible and responsive."
