Negative investor sentiment takes toll on bourse

The CSE yesterday kicked off on a positive note but later investor sentiment began to decline owing to monthend profittakings.

Amid those developments both indices indicated mixed reactions. The All Share Price Index went down by 34.69 points while the S and P SL20 rose by 14.84 points.

Turnover stood at Rs 5.6 billion with 12 crossings. Top seven crossings reported during the day were: Aitken Spence five million shares crossed to the tune of Rs 815 million; its shares traded at Rs 163, Laugfs Gas 6.1 million shares crossed for Rs 406 million; its shares traded at Rs 67, Haylays one million shares crossed for Rs 194.5 million; its shares traded at Rs 194.50.
