Fourteen Deputy Inspectors General of police, including two female DIGs, have been transferred with immediate effect.
The transfers were made on the request of IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya and with the approval of the National Police Commission. Police sources said the changes followed the recent promotions of several senior police officers to the rank of DIG.
