A common sight on Ayrshire high streets is set to disappear after WH Smith sold 480 stores in a £76million deal.
All four high street branches in Ayrshire were included in the sale as WH Smith looks to focus exclusively on its travel business including its airport and railway station stores.
Modella Capital, a specialist retail and consumer investment firm, will take on the stores as well as around 5,000 WH Smith staff across the UK.
