Driver pronounced dead at scene of major smash as road closed for hours
A man has died after the car he was driving was involved in a crash with an HGV.
Police are appealing for information after the 70-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the A71 horror smash.
Emergency services were scrambled to the major route just after 11am on Thursday morning to a report of a crash involving a grey Kia Ceed and a white DAF HGV westbound between the Corsehill Mount Roundabout and Warrix Interchange.
