MONEY from the sale of Halifax's major sports stadium will not be channelled into providing Christmas trees for some places where a council used to provide them.

- By JOHN GREENWOOD Local Democracy Reporter

A question was posed to senior Calderdale councillors about where cash saved by the controversial sale of The Shay - home to the town's professional sports clubs, football's FC Halifax Town and rugby league's Halifax Panthers might be spent.

At a public questions session at a meeting of the full Calderdale Council, Tim Holden wondered if money saved by the sale could be spent restoring this aspect of the festive season.
