Junior football in Huddersfield has been blighted by 'unacceptable behaviour' according to an official

BEHAVIOUR at junior football games in Huddersfield has been branded “a disgrace” - and offending teams could face being banned from taking part.

The secretary of Huddersfield Junior Football League, Jon Rayner, says that “abuse and negativity” is wearing officials down and cannot continue. One official has already quit due to the abuse, he said.

In an announcement, Mr Rayner said: “It genuinely saddens me that I have to write this, but enough is enough.

“This is junior football and what we are currently witnessing is absolutely unacceptable. The behaviour being reported - some of it at U9 matches - is a disgrace. There is no excuse for it and it must stop immediately.”
