STATEMENT REVEALS HORRENDOUS TOLL ON VICTIM'S FAMILY AS MURDERER HANDED LIFE SENTENCE
COLD killer Alfie Franco has been jailed for life as his sentencing hearing was told how victim Ahmad Mamdouh al Ibrahim’s father suffered a grief-induced heart attack after hearing about his son’s murder.
Ahmad, 16, lost his life on April 3 this year after being stabbed in a violent knife attack carried out by evil Alfie Franco.
Franco, 20, was found guilty of murder at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday after a trial that lasted nearly two weeks. On Friday, he was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 23 years.
Three new images of Ahmad have been released following a family statement that was written by his uncle Gazwan al Ibrahim and read to the court by prosecutor Richard Wright KC.
In the statement, Gazwan told how Ahmad’s father suffered a heart attack upon hearing of his son’s death. He said his mother and siblings ‘cry all day’ and when he wrote the statement, he had to end a call they were on with him ‘due to collapse’
He said Ahmad had dreams of becoming a doctor and had fled Syria due to conflict there, and was continuing his studies in the UK.
