LEE Grant has praised his Huddersfield Town side’s application, intent and aggression after their Vertu Trophy win over Lincoln.

Murray Wallace fires home against Lincoln

Second half goals from Joe Taylor and Murray Wallace were enough to seal a solid 2-0 win on Tuesday night.

Grant said: “I am so pleased, I have to say. So pleased with the group. The application was first class. The intent and the aggression in the game was really good.

“We knocked the stuffing out of Lincoln within the first 15 minutes with our aggression, intensity in our duels, our physicality and then, of course, the quality and I thought that was probably the thing that disrupted them and flattened them the most. So that was really pleasing, and to see that then translate into goals and a really solid performance across the course of the 98 minutes, and the cherry on top being the clean sheet, was really pleasing.
