'Arrest figures speak for themselves'

INSPECTOR SAYS IT IS PLEASING TO SEE SUSPECTS BEING DEALT WITH AS MORE THAN 50 ARRESTED IN TWO WEEKS OF SAFER STREETS OPERATIONS

MORE than 50 people have been arrested in Huddersfield town centre over the past two weeks.

The Huddersfield Town Proactive Team has been battling antisocial behaviour, violence, and shop thefts in Huddersfield town centre this September.

So far, more arrests have been made in the first two weeks of September than in the whole of August.

In total, 53 people have been arrested as of September 17, the equivalent to three arrests per day.

Suspects have been arrested for possession of offensive weapons, shop theft, public order offences and breaches of Criminal Behaviour Orders.
