PILGRIMS HAVE £300,000 DEAL ACCEPTED BY FLEETWOOD
FLEETWOOD Town defender Brendan Wiredu is expected to be the next new arrival at Plymouth Argyle after the Pilgrims agreed a fee with Fleetwood Town for his services.
The 25-year-old Londoner is expected to join the Pilgrims soon after the club agreed an undisclosed six-figure fee believed to be £300,000 with the League Two club for his services.
Capable of playing in defence or in midfield, Wiredu will offer plenty of defensive options for new head coach Tom Cleverley with Argyle beating several League One and Championship clubs to his signature.
Born in Tower Hamlets, London, Wiredu started his career in the Academy of Charlton Athletic and he had loan spells, but he only made six appearances for the Addicks - all in Cup competitions - before joining Colchester United for an undisclosed fee after a loan spell in Essex.
