Winchester rifle home early goals to down Parkway

PLYMOUTH PARKWAY 0 WINCHESTER CITY 3

Parkway made three changes from last week’s hard-earned draw at Havant & Waterlooville with Ryan Brett, Rio Garside and Carlo Garside returning in place of Matt Wright, Will Armstrong and James Watts-Barciela.

Parkway made the worst possible start, going behind after just four minutes. An under-hit backpass from Callum Rose saw Trevor Caborn block under pressure Luke McCormicks rushed clearance and roll a pass into Tommy Wright, who slotted into the empty net from around 10 yard.

The hosts failed to react positively while the visitors looked sharp and motivated, with Wright again breaking free, his shot on six minutes being saved low down by McCormick.

On eight minutes, Rose picked up an early yellow card for a challenge just outside the 18 yard area, with Parkway managing to clear the free-kick at the second attempt.

Winchester continued to dictate the pace of the game, controlling the midfield area with Parkway unable to gain any quality possession or momentum, with Wright again in the action when he fired narrowly over on 10 minutes.

Parkway did manage to break forward on 15 minutes with Dylan Jones going clear down the left only to lack composure and fire on an overhit cross.
