Water policy changed as MP steps in for residents

A PLYMOUTH MP has hailed a major U-turn by a water company after residents in Plymouth's static caravan village were left without supplies during an outage.

Thousands of Plymouth homes and businesses were left without water in April after a mains burst - but not all were able to access bottled water supplied by South West Water during the incident.

Plymouth Moor View MP Fred Thomas said he was told by several disabled and vulnerable residents that South West Water would not deliver water to them because they were not the billpayer.

He said the problem was particularly acute for those living in Glenholt Park, a park home site where residents pay the operator who then pays South West water.
