BOARD BACK CLEVERLEY AS ‘RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS CLUB'
THE Plymouth Argyle board has given head coach Tom Cleverley a vote of confidence and its backing despite the Pilgrims poor start to their League One campaign.
The Greens sit in the relegation zone after 14 games and defeat at Mansfield Town on Tuesday night was their third in succession.
Cleverley's men succumbed to yet more mistakes and poor defending in what was their ninth defeat in 14 games played, which leaves them 22nd in League One.
In an open letter posted on the club's website following the defeat, chief executive Paul Berne admitted that the club is not happy with the start of the campaign, which he described as 'very disappointing'.
But he added that whilst results have been disappointing, nothing has changed in terms of Cleverley being the right person for this club. He added that the board are confident that things will improve and they believe he [Cleverley] has all the tools to still deliver the success they want.
