CLEVERLEY SPELLS OUT HIS AIMS AS CLOCK TICKS DOWN TO TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSING

HEAD coach Tom Cleverley wants to see two more Plymouth Argyle signings before the summer transfer window closes at 7pm tonight.

The urgency to do that has increased after the Pilgrims' heavy 4-0 defeat away to League One leaders Cardiff City on Saturday, and also with the news that attacking player Xavier Amaechi needs surgery for a serious hamstring injury and will be out of action until the new year.

Argyle have lost five of their opening six league games this season, conceding 13 goals, are in 21st position in the table with three points and it is clearly important more signings are made before the transfer deadline to give the squad a boost.
