LIAM PRYNN'S brace helped Tavistock climb out of the relega- tion zone as they made it back-to- back wins in Southern League Division One South with an enter- taining 3-2 win over Melksham Town at Langsford Park.

- By STUART JAMES

Just four days after beating the same opposition 3-0, with all goals coming in the second half, Tavis-tock continued from where they left off by scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes.

Prynn, one of the scorers at Melksham on Saturday, got the ball rolling inside seven minutes before another of Saturday's scor-ers, Luke Mortimer, bagged the second to put Tavi in dreamland.

Melksham were much improved after the break and scored straight after half-time through Nathan Davis and all of Tavi’s hard work appeared to have unravelled when Alex Hallett levelled things up. But the momentum of the game swung back in Tavi’s favour with Prynn scoring a superb winner 14 minutes from time to the delight of the home faithful.

"It’s a big week for us. We were targeting three wins out of three, it’s two down and one to go,” Prynn said, with Cinderford Town up next at Langsford Park tomorrow.
