IT has certainly been a challenging summer for Tavistock and their manager Stuart Henderson as he seeks to rebuild a Lambs squad that suffered some key departures in the close season.

- By STUART JAMES

Captain Ed Harrison and top marksman Liam Prynn have both defected to Mousehole, while goalkeeper Aaron Dearing has moved across Devon to join Exmouth Town, who were in the market for a goalkeeper after the hugely successful loan of Exeter City youngster Frankie Phillips last season.

The loss of three key men is a blow to Tavistock, but nothing new. In fact, it may not feel like it for those at Langsford Park, but it is testament to Henderson's ability to unearth gems that they are polished and sine under his guidance before frustratingly moving on to club's higher up the food chain, or who can afford a better financial offer.

“These things happen, especially at this level, and it's difficult,” Henderson admitted to his club's media. “But you just have to get on with it.
