Stonehouse pub presses ahead with upgrade

BIG EFFORT TO LOOK AFTER BOTH OLD AND NEW CUSTOMERS

THERE are big changes at one of Plymouth's smallest pubs. The Duchy of Cornwall has undergone a major upgrade since Michelle and Rob Wills moved in just over a year ago - and the improvements just keep on coming.

The couple initially took over as managers at the Stonehouse hostelry, but are now buying the freehold. In the past year they have changed the internal layout, ripping out an old porch, building a new bar and redecorating, with new furniture too.

The investment will continue with revamped toilets and a new paint job outside, with the corner pub's current green hue likely to revert to off-cream and black, its former colours. The couple are also redecorating the flat above the pub, where they live.
