A NEW gym is set to open in Plymouth in place of a Plymouth charity shop which is set to close down this month.
In February last year, plans were submitted by JD Gyms for a unit at Transit Way to be converted into a health and fitness club. In April that year, Plymouth City Council planners, under delegated powers, approved the change of use scheme.
Now, a year later, those plans seem set to be enacted after Dame Hannahs charity, which currently occupies the unit, has announced on Facebook the 'disappointing' news to its customers that its shop is closing next week.
The Transit Way store, which is situated next to The Ark pet shop inside the shopping outlet, will close on Saturday.
