The messages, dubbed as “childish’, were sprayed on public and privately owned businesses across South East Cornwall. They read ‘AI will replace us all’ and ‘AI will take our jobs'.

So far, 15 incidents have been reported, according to Devon and Cornwall Police, and the slogans are believed to have been spray-painted late at night or in the early hours of the morning on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

Incidents have been logged in Polbathic, Seaton, Downderry, Hessenford, Widegates, Crafthole and Looe.

Devon and Cornwall Police have shared images of a masked person officers would like to speak to in connection with the graffiti.
