Pleguezuelo ruled out of Argyle's big clash with Millwall
The Herald
|February 12, 2025
PLYMOUTH Argyle will be without Julio Pleguezuelo for the Championship clash against Millwall at Home Park tonight but another defender, Kornel Szucs, is available for selection again.
Pleguezuelo was substituted in the second half of the shock 1-0 Emirates FA Cup fourth round victory over Premier League leaders Liverpool at Home Park on Sunday due to an adductor muscle injury, which has troubled him in recent matches.
Victor Palsson came off the substitutes’ bench to replace Pleguezuelo and put in a strong display, but Pilgrims’ boss Miron Muslic now also has the option of calling upon Szucs for the game against Alex Neil’s 14th-placed Millwall.
The Hungary international defender had been ruled out by injury since the 0-0 draw away to Stoke City on January 4 but has successfully taken a full part in training over the past week.
Pleguezuelo has started all nine of Argyle’s games, both in the Championship and the FA Cup, since the start of 2025 so it has been a heavy workload for him. Muslic said: “He has a little injury. Pleggy will be out for tomorrow and hopefully we can regain him in the next seven to 10 days.”
