ASSISTANT COACH TAKES PLENTY OF POSITIVES FROM WIN AT LUTON
ASSISTANT head coach Damon Lathrope admitted it was a relief for Plymouth Argyle to get their first away League One win of the season.
The Pilgrims lost their first three matches on the road this term, against Bolton Wanderers, Lincoln City and Cardiff City, but overcame lots of adversity to beat Luton Town 3-2 at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
Argyle had only 10 players on the pitch from the 50th minute onwards after the dismissal of their captain Joe Edwards, but they still went on to get a winning goal from Bradley Ibrahim, while head coach Tom Cleverley was also shown a red card by referee Ollie Yates in the second half.
Cleverley's early exit from the technical area meant he was not allowed to carry out his usual post-match media interviews, so that responsibility fell to Lathrope, who reflected on the importance of Argyle getting their first away league win of the campaign.
He said: "It's certainly a relief and the next time we are in these moments, and the next away game we go into, knowing you have done it before, knowing you are capable of it, knowing you can dig that deep, it's always easier to repeat that.
