PLYMOUTH Argyle striker Bim Pepple has been spending some of his time away from professional football by helping out as a volunteer at the Shekinah charity shop on Mutley Plain.

- By CHRIS ERRINGTON

The 22-year-old joined the Pilgrims from Luton Town in the summer and was keen to do some volunteering within the local community, and found out about the work of Shekinah after an online search of charities in the area.

The Shekinah website says the Mutley Plain store “is a vibrant and welcoming shop selling a carefully edited selection of vintage, retro and designer clothes to a background of blues and jazz. We also stock a collection of other items including books, DVDs and a selection of bric-a-brac to suit everyone's budget.”

Pepple, whose volunteering has included painting furniture, did not tell Shekinah staff at first that he played for Argyle and it only later cropped up in conversations.
