Parkway switch friendly after starting with a win
The Herald
|July 11, 2024
PLYMOUTH Parkway's pre-season fixture against Tavistock on Sunday has been moved to Langsford Park due to ongoing work on the playing surface at Bolitho Park.
Parkway's 2024-25 season was blighted by issues with their pitch and the club spent a lot of money this summer on improvements, which they hope will alleviate any issues they have had in the last few years.
The match will kick-off at 3pm and will be Parkway's second pre-season game of the summer after they were 4-3 winners at Exmouth Town on Tuesday night.
Under the management of new boss Chris McPhee, Parkway's goals were shared between strikers Matt Wright and Dylan Jones, who scored two apiece.
"I was very pleased," McPhee said after the game. "The players got good minutes in their legs at a good tempo and intensity, which is important in pre-season fixtures as we would like to avoid 'exhibition game' intensity levels.
"Exmouth was a fantastic host and opponent who played at a high intensity themselves, and it was clear to all that both sides got plenty out of the game.
