Navy's ‘milestone’ mission in Indo-Pacific

ACHIEVEMENT PROMPTS A WARNING FROM CHINA

A BRITISH-made drone has made history by delivering supplies between two warships for the first time during a Royal Navy operation in the Indo-Pacific, prompting a warning from China.

The Malloy T-150 quadcopter drone flew from flagship carrier HMS Prince of Wales to the Type 45 destroyer HMS Dauntless as part of the UK Carrier Strike Group's ongoing Operation Highmast.

This eight-month deployment involves nearly 4,000 British and international military personnel, with the Royal Navy conducting exercises and port visits in the Mediterranean, Indo-Pacific, and Euro-Atlantic regions to demonstrate the UK’s military strength.

HMS Prince of Wales and her escort warships recently visited Japan, following weeks of increased tensions in the region due to territorial incursions by Chinese naval vessels.
