DEFENDER WILL NOT BE RECALLED FROM HIS LOAN SPELL

- By CHRIS ERRINGTON

PLYMOUTH Argyle will have Charlton Athletic defender Alex Mitchell with them for the rest of the season after the expiry of a recall clause in his loan deal.

The 24-year-old stopper joined the Pilgrims in mid-August, during the summer transfer window, and has gone on to become a key player for them, making a total of 24 starts and two substitute appearances.

Mitchell is in the fifth loan spell of his career, the first four of which were while he was at Millwall before he made a permanent move across London to Championship side Charlton in 2024.

Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley confirmed that Mitchell would remain part of the Pilgrims’ squad for the rest of the campaign.
