Let's pray to the Prince of Peace

EIGHTY years on from the surrender signings onboard USS Missouri and in Karlshorst Berlin, 107 years from the Armistice of Compiègne, this Remembrance Sunday we remember the global conflicts of both World Wars. We too remember the sacrifice and suffering of Service Personnel and civilians affected by war and conflict ever since.

How though do we remember? What does remembering look like? Buying a poppy, supporting veterans is one way, honouring the minute’s silence is another, attending a service another still. Less of us have direct connections to the World Wars, fewer parents and grandparents who served in combat remain. How do we actively remember not forgetting what sacrifices have been made for our freedom today?
