Keyham families meet with Minister

FAMILIES of Keyham shooting victims have met with the Policing Minister to urge him to make changes to the nation’s gun laws in the wake of the damning inquest jury findings and Plymouth coroner’s recommendations.

The families – accompanied by Plymouth MP Luke Pollard who has supported their aim to see changes to the 1968 Firearms Act – have urged Policing Minister Chris Philp to ban pump action weapons from being kept in the home, and to tackle incel culture online, among a number of other proposals.

Mr Pollard said he told the Policing Minister that he, too, backed Plymouth coroner Ian Arrow’s recommendations in his Prevention of Future Deaths report that the gun laws needed to be urgently reviewed and brought into line with modern times.
