DEWSNIP HAILS PILGRIMS' RESILIENCE

NEIL Dewsnip thought Plymouth Argyle's players showed 'incredible resilience' as they battled back from a one-goal deficit to claim what could be an invaluable point from a 1-1 draw with relegation rivals Queens Park Rangers.

The Pilgrims, who were playing at Home Park for the first time since the sacking of head coach Ian Foster, went behind to a 73rd minute close range finish from QPR midfielder Sam Field.

It appeared as though they were headed for a sixth successive home league defeat and without a goal in any of them until a moment of good fortune in the closing stages.

QPR goalkeeper Asmir Begovic flapped at an inswinging corner from Adam Randell and the ball hit Albert Adomah and bounced off him into his own net as he was challenged by Argyle substitute Mustapha Bundu.

It earned the Pilgrims a draw and gave them at least something to build on when they host title-chasing Leicester City in a Sky televised clash on Friday night.

Dewsnip said: "We genuinely thought we could win the game.

At half-time we still thought the same. When they scored that was the moment the team had to show incredible resilience.

"I thought the crowd were magnificent to help us and we got the goal which could be invaluable. We see it as a point gained not an opportunity missed at home. That's now four points in two games, which means momentum for us is changing and we go again Friday."
