Gladiators are unable to contain victorious Pirates

PLYMOUTH Gladiators were unable to cash in on their good start at Poole Pirates, going down to a 58-32 defeat in their second BSN Series meeting of the season,

Despite a superb effort from heat leader Nicolai Klidt five points from Joe Thompson and six points at reserve from Ben Trigger, the rest of the Gladiators team toiled at Wimborne Road, with Alfie Bowtell, Mitchell Cluff, Ben Barker and Lasse Fredriksen scoring just nine points between them. And against a side as formidable as Poole, you can't get away with it, as the Pirates showed.

Things started brightly with Klindt winning the opening race, but with Bowtell finishing last, the points were shared. But a 5-1 in heat two from reserves Fredriksen and Trigger saw the Gladiators out in front.
