A DRIVER was arrested after travelling at a "dangerously low speed" on the A38 during fuel protests which caused chaos on the region's roads yesterday.
Traffic delays had been expected across the region as protesters planned to block the M5 and other main travel routes in the South West. A protest was planned for the A30, in Cornwall.
Motorists had been warned to expect disruption as protesters prepared to demonstrate against rising fuel prices.
Fuel prices have soared in recent months. Protests have provoked a mixed reaction from drivers, with some seeing it as 'the only way' to fight the increases, with others angry at the potential delays.
