PLYMOUTH
Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley has been charged with misconduct by The Football Association after he was sent-off during the Vertu Trophy round of 16 tie away to Bristol Rovers last week.It was the second time this season that Cleverley had been red-carded, after he was dismissed in the second half of the Pilgrims’ 3-2 League One win away to Luton Town in September.
Bristol Rovers boss Steve Evans was also sent-off after full-time of a dramatic Vertu Trophy tie, which ended in a 4-3 win for Argyle following an added time goal from Bim Pepple, and he too is facing a misconduct charge.
A statement from The FA this afternoon read as follows: “Tom Cleverley and Stephen Evans have been charged with misconduct following the EFL Trophy match between Plymouth Argyle and Bristol Rovers on Tuesday 13 January.
