TOP BALLET DANCER CALLS PLYMOUTH 'GREAT'

ONE of the world’s top ballet stars has called Plymouth “great” – while comparing it to New York.

Cuban-British dancer and director Carlos Acosta praised the city after his version of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake wowed audiences at Theatre Royal Plymouth.

Acosta, who lives in the South West, lauded Britain’s Ocean City in a lengthy interview with the Financial Times – but he also said that, as great as Plymouth is, his ballet would not face the same intense competition and security as it would in the Big Apple.
