City to show support for war-torn Ukraine

A MAJOR event supporting war-torn Ukraine and featuring a top movie maker will be held in Plymouth this weekend.
With world leaders meeting in a bid to end the three-year-old conflict, the Ukrainian Independence Weekend will take place in Britain's Ocean City on Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24.
The event will feature arts, crafts and photographic exhibitions, concerts and movies, such as the Oscar - and Bafta-laden 20 Days in Mariupol, and visits from VIP guests including British-Ukrainian filmmaker Maria Springis.
Organiser David Salter said: "Ukraine is very much in the news - these brave people, their families and their traditions, are defending their hard-won independence - and ours in the UK too.
