POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in a quiet lane leading to an exclusive private estate, after he had apparently been struck by a vehicle.
Detectives from Devon and Cornwall Police's Major Crimes Investigation Team (MCIT) yesterday confirmed that a 36-year-old Plymouth man was in custody at Charles Cross police station, following his arrest on suspicion of murder.
Earlier yesterday, a spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that the emergency service was called at 8.46pm on Tuesday regarding an incident in Plymouth, understood to be on Leigham Manor Drive. The spokesperson stated that the service sent "two double-crewed land ambulances, a doctor, an operations officer and a critical care car."
