Argyle condemn racist online abuse

STRIKER TARGETED AFTER MISSING PENALTY
INVESTIGATIONS have been called for after Plymouth Argyle footballer Bim Pepple received “vile racist abuse” on social media.
The English-born striker was targeted after having a penalty saved during Argyle’s 2-0 win over Cheltenham Town last night at Home Park.
The 22-year-old informed the club which said it was “appalled” and issued a strongly worded statement. It has shared screenshots of the abuse with the police and social media giant Meta for the matter to be investigated.
The club said: “Following yesterday's game, our striker Bim Pepple was subject to vile racist abuse across his social media platforms.
Late last night, Bim informed us of this and showed us screenshots of the accounts and the messages he had received.
