A play to raise your spirits over Easter holidays

April 06, 2026

STUFF and Nonsense are back in town over the Easter holidays and this time they've brought a gigantic turnip with them!

Running until Saturday April 18th, The Enormous Turnip follows the cosy lives of two happily married gardeners. Inclusivity and interactivity are at the centre of this warm and witty production, and we're personally greeted by Mr Chickweed (Gareth Price Baghurst) during our security check.

Mrs Chickweed (Maria Gray) is also on hand as we head into the auditorium itself.

Dressed in scruffy looking dungarees and eccentric headwear, she chats to the audience as they take to their seats and even gives us some friendly advice on where to sit.

These welcoming touches set the tone for the performance which is everything family theatre should be: fun, relaxed and a little bit bonkers!

It turns out that Dorothy Chickweed is a keen gardener; so keen that she even squeezes herself into a tiny shed placed next to her precious veg patch so that she can keep an eye on her plants overnight.

Parkway turn on the style to end season on a high

STARTING the season with a disappointing 6-3 defeat away to runaway league champions Walton & Hersham, Parkway would finish the season with a superb performance, and the very same scoreline, as they picked up all three points against a very good Gosport Borough side.
