US to Pause Yemen Strikes After President Claims Houthi 'Capitulation'

The US will halt its bombing campaign against Yemen's Houthis after Donald Trump claimed the Iran-aligned group had agreed to stop targeting shipping in the Red Sea.
The pause, announced by the president during an Oval Office meeting with the Canadian prime minister, came on a day when Israel claimed its jets had fully disabled Yemen's main airport in retaliation for a missile strike on Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport on Sunday.
Trump said: "The Houthis have announced...that they don't want to fight anymore. They just don't want to fight. And we will honour that, and we will stop the bombings, and they have capitulated."
