Ukraine and Russia exchange prisoners in UAE-brokered deal

Ukraine and Russia yesterday announced the largest prisoner of war exchange since the start of the conflict, involving the return of more than 200 soldiers from each side in a deal mediated by the United Arab Emirates.
The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, wrote on social media: "230 of our people. Today, 213 soldiers and sergeants, 11 officers, and 6 civilians returned home."
Zelenskiy added that some of the returned soldiers had "fought in Mariupol and Azovstal", referring to the brutal siege of the Azovstal steelworks during the defence of Mariupol, a southern Ukrainian port city now occupied by Russia.
