Trump Will Make Three-Day Visit to Britain in September But Won't Address Parliament
The Guardian
|July 14, 2025
King Charles has invited Donald Trump for an unprecedented second state visit, scheduling the trip for three days when parliament is not sitting and removing the possibility of an address to parliament.

Buckingham Palace will announce today that the US president will come to the UK from 17-19 September, soon after the House of Commons rises for its traditional break for the annual party conferences.
The king will host Trump and his wife, Melania, at Windsor Castle, though the palace has not yet set out any other details.
The visit is a coup for the White House. Trump, who officially toured the UK in 2019, will be the first elected politician in modern times to be granted two state visits.
The possibility of a second visit was raised in February in the form of a letter delivered by Keir Starmer, the prime minister, during a meeting at the White House.
Other presidents, including Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, have given speeches to both houses of parliament as did France's Emmanuel Macron in his visit last week.
