Lewis turns on style to maintain Hull KR's perfect start

Mikey Lewis expertly pulled the strings as Hull KR extended their perfect start to the season by sweeping aside the bottom side, Huddersfield.

Lewis bagged a hat-trick and had a hand in just about all of the Robins' nine tries as they recorded a thumping win - their sixth victory from six league matches to regain their three-point cushion at the top of the table.

George Flanagan's incredible individual effort was scant consolation for Huddersfield, who put up a fight in the first 40 minutes but succumbed to a sixth successive defeat.

Lewis's only mishap was an early missed tackle that gave Flanagan the chance he took so brilliantly and Hull KR's head coach, Willie Peters, was impressed by his player's response to his error.

Peters said: "He wasn't happy with that tackle but the good thing is he owns it, says: 'I'll make up for it,' and he certainly did that. He's starting to hit his groove now and there's no doubt that in the middle part of the season, we'll see the best of Mikey."
