Workers at SeAH Wind vote to strike over pay

TEESSIDE wind farm factory workers have voted to strike after rejecting a pay deal.
Workers at SeAH Wind voted for strike action after rejecting the imposition of shift allowances and a below inflation and industry standards pay offer, says their union.
The ballot turnout was 80.42% - with 96.49% voting in favour to strike Seah Wind holds significant contracts to deliver monopiles for the wind farms that the Government hope will deliver their net zero energy targets.
The GMB Union recently won the right to union recognition, after 81% of the workforce supported the bid despite claims the company attempted to block the move.
A spokesperson for SeAH Wind said that they acknowledge the outcome of the ballot, and further discussions are scheduled.
They added that the firm fully respects the rights of employees to seek representation.
